Surah Al-Balad 90:1 — Word-by-Word Meaning
لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِهَـٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ1:আমি এই নগরীর শপথ করি
1:I swear by this city, Makkah -
Surah Al-Balad 90:2 — Word-by-Word Meaning
وَأَنتَ حِلٌّۢ بِهَـٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ2:এবং এই নগরীতে আপনার উপর কোন প্রতিবন্ধকতা নেই।
2:And you, [O Muhammad], are free of restriction in this city -
Surah Al-Balad 90:3 — Word-by-Word Meaning
وَوَالِدٍ وَمَا وَلَدَ3:শপথ জনকের ও যা জন্ম দেয়।
3:And [by] the father and that which was born [of him],
Surah Al-Balad 90:4 — Word-by-Word Meaning
لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ فِى كَبَدٍ4:নিশ্চয় আমি মানুষকে শ্রমনির্ভররূপে সৃষ্টি করেছি।
4:We have certainly created man into hardship.
Surah Al-Balad 90:5 — Word-by-Word Meaning
أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّن يَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ أَحَدٌ5:সে কি মনে করে যে, তার উপর কেউ ক্ষমতাবান হবে না ?
5:Does he think that never will anyone overcome him?
Surah Al-Balad 90:6 — Word-by-Word Meaning
يَقُولُ أَهْلَكْتُ مَالًا لُّبَدًا6:সে বলেঃ আমি প্রচুর ধন-সম্পদ ব্যয় করেছি।
6:He says, "I have spent wealth in abundance."
Surah Al-Balad 90:7 — Word-by-Word Meaning
أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّمْ يَرَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌ7:সে কি মনে করে যে, তাকে কেউ দেখেনি?
7:Does he think that no one has seen him?
Surah Al-Balad 90:8 — Word-by-Word Meaning
أَلَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُۥ عَيْنَيْنِ8:আমি কি তাকে দেইনি চক্ষুদ্বয়,
8:Have We not made for him two eyes?
Surah Al-Balad 90:9 — Word-by-Word Meaning
وَلِسَانًا وَشَفَتَيْنِ9:জিহবা ও ওষ্ঠদ্বয় ?
9:And a tongue and two lips?
Surah Al-Balad 90:10 — Word-by-Word Meaning
وَهَدَيْنَـٰهُ ٱلنَّجْدَيْنِ10:বস্তুতঃ আমি তাকে দু’টি পথ প্রদর্শন করেছি।
10:And have shown him the two ways?

Surah Al-Balad 90:11 — Word-by-Word Meaning
فَلَا ٱقْتَحَمَ ٱلْعَقَبَةَ11:অতঃপর সে ধর্মের ঘাঁটিতে প্রবেশ করেনি।
11:But he has not broken through the difficult pass.
Surah Al-Balad 90:12 — Word-by-Word Meaning
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْعَقَبَةُ12:আপনি জানেন, সে ঘাঁটি কি?
12:And what can make you know what is [breaking through] the difficult pass?
Surah Al-Balad 90:13 — Word-by-Word Meaning
فَكُّ رَقَبَةٍ13:তা হচ্ছে দাসমুক্তি
13:It is the freeing of a slave
Surah Al-Balad 90:14 — Word-by-Word Meaning
أَوْ إِطْعَـٰمٌ فِى يَوْمٍ ذِى مَسْغَبَةٍ14:অথবা দুর্ভিক্ষের দিনে অন্নদান।
14:Or feeding on a day of severe hunger
Surah Al-Balad 90:15 — Word-by-Word Meaning
يَتِيمًا ذَا مَقْرَبَةٍ15:এতীম আত্বীয়কে
15:An orphan of near relationship
Surah Al-Balad 90:16 — Word-by-Word Meaning
أَوْ مِسْكِينًا ذَا مَتْرَبَةٍ16:অথবা ধুলি-ধুসরিত মিসকীনকে
16:Or a needy person in misery
Surah Al-Balad 90:17 — Word-by-Word Meaning
ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُو وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلْمَرْحَمَةِ17:অতঃপর তাদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হওয়া, যারা ঈমান আনে এবং পরস্পরকে উপদেশ দেয় সবরের ও উপদেশ দেয় দয়ার।
17:And then being among those who believed and advised one another to patience and advised one another to compassion.
Surah Al-Balad 90:18 — Word-by-Word Meaning
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ18:তারাই সৌভাগ্যশালী।
18:Those are the companions of the right.
Surah Al-Balad 90:19 — Word-by-Word Meaning
وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا هُمْ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ19:আর যারা আমার আয়াতসমূহ অস্বীকার করে তারাই হতভাগা।
19:But they who disbelieved in Our signs - those are the companions of the left.
Surah Al-Balad 90:20 — Word-by-Word Meaning
عَلَيْهِمْ نَارٌ مُّؤْصَدَةٌ20:তারা অগ্নিপরিবেষ্টিত অবস্থায় বন্দী থাকবে।
20:Over them will be fire closed in.
